Description:
On Sunday, July 2, NYC and PA based, Yu.S.Artistry, will present their newest evening-length work, Memories of the Moon. The evening of dance will feature artistic director Yuki Ishiguro's newest piece of the same title. It is a moving piece that utilizes light and shadow to enhance the narrative, inspired by the diary entry of one of the Japanese prisoners of a WWII US interment camp. In his diary, the gentleman recorded the passage of time by counting full moons. The work will feature an original score by Japanese composer, Rin Nagaya. Following this piece, the company will present a world premiere, "Beyond the See," by celebrated choreographer, Yoshito Sakuraba, and a few other pieces that show the wide range of the company's repertoire. This work is supported by the PLUNGE Development Grant.
TW: Yoshito's piece has a scream in the sound
