AT THE TANK

We want to work with you!

THE SOMNAMBULISTS created by MulchHorse, directed by Elizabeth Fetterolf and Collin Knopp-Schwyn (April 2018)

INTERN @ THE TANK

Our internships allow you to get hands-on, invaluable experience working in the theater. Our interns are a vital part of our operations for the time they work with us, and many end up joining our artistic community soon after their internship is complete. An internship at The Tank provides a 360-degree look at what it takes to run a small, non-profit arts organization in New York City and opportunities to work with each staff member in their area of expertise. Our interns get experience with marketing, reviewing submissions, general management, production, fundraising, and much more. While we focus each intern's experience on their particular interests, we ask interested applicants considering an internship at The Tank to be willing and able to dive into a variety of projects.

We ask for approximately 20 hours a week, which usually breaks down to two or three office hour shifts per week, AND one required front of house shift per week, usually on a weekend evening.

The internship is in-person at The Tank.

We ask that all interns follow our Tank Safety Guidelines, which include full vaccination status for all artists, audience, staff, and volunteers and mask-wearing.

Our interns typically have a chance to check out shows happening at The Tank during evening shifts.

Tank office hours are 10:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, and performances happen every evening.

The Tank provides a stipend of $1,000 to those who are not receiving financial compensation through participation in a university fellowship program.
